Head Coach Vacancy

Head Coach Vacancy

Ben Holt29 May - 15:39

BRUFC are looking for a new Head Coach for the 2026-27 season and beyond!

About the role
Burntwood RFC are looking for an experienced and motivated Head Coach to lead our senior programme from the 2026/27 season and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact at a three-team community club with real ambition — overseeing our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd XVs and helping shape the future direction of the club. We're looking for someone who shares our values, puts players at the heart of everything they do, and has the drive to take us forward.

What we offer

- Competitive remuneration — dependent on experience and qualifications
- Benefits package included
- We invest in our coaches — CPD and training support included
- Grow with us — ongoing development and training for the right candidate
- Large and motivated senior squad

Attendance & availability
The role requires regular attendance across training and match days throughout the season. This includes two training sessions per week — Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:00pm to 8:30pm — as well as all 1st XV fixtures, including league, cup, and friendly games.

Delivering great training sessions
You'll plan, deliver, and review training sessions across the senior squad, with a focus on developing individual skills, building player confidence, and improving fitness. Sessions should be engaging, well-structured, and safe, and always reflect the values and codes of conduct that rugby is built on.

A player-centred approach
We want a coach who puts players first. You'll bring a clear coaching and playing philosophy that reflects the needs and motivations of every senior player — not just those in the first team.

Your own development
We invest in our coaches. Working alongside the Club Coaching Coordinator, you'll have access to ongoing personal learning and development opportunities to help you grow in the role.

Developing and retaining players
A key part of this role is creating an environment where players want to stay and improve. You'll deliver a high quality rugby experience across all senior XVs, support fitness and conditioning, help prevent and manage injuries, and play an active role in promoting the club to prospective new players.

Upholding the club's values and standards
You'll set the tone for how the senior programme operates — establishing clear team standards in line with the club's values, building a playing style that reflects the squad's strengths, and maintaining a fair and transparent selection policy.

Reporting
You'll provide a monthly report to the club committee covering senior team progression across the 1st and 2nd XVs, key achievements, and training attendance.

We'd love to hear from you.
