The U15s faced a combined Willenhall/Wolverhampton opposition in the Staffs Plate Final at Lichfield RUFC last Sunday morning. After a see-saw encounter, our lads pulled away at the death to win the trophy.
Infront of a large crowd of spectators, many from Burntwood, it was the combined side who went into the lead with a converted try.
Burntwood grew into the game to build what looked like a match-winning lead going into the second half.

The boys from the Black Country had other ideas though and a burst of scoring saw them take the lead at 29-27 as the match moved into the final quarter.

However, two converted tries in the time remaining clinched the win 41-29.
The plate and medals were presented by SRU M/Y Chairman Danny Carlin after which the players, coaches and supporters celebrated well into the afternoon.
